Find My Ancestors Genealogy Website

They say that who you are is not just defined by genetics but by your ancestry as well. Knowing your family history can give you a greater sense of identity and understanding. That is why I wanted to find my ancestors. Perhaps, you're also fascinated by ancestry search and finding your roots.

It is really an amazing thing to know that we are the product of generations. Definitely, what you look like is a result of genetic mating.

Even so, where you live or grew up, is a result of where your ancestors settled. That could mean that who you are depends on your circumstances, which are largely influenced by your family history.

When I started to trace my family tree, I was surprised at the twist and turns the road took me. I had no idea that a family history search could be so intriguing and fun. Frustrating and dead ends, yes, but fun nonetheless.

I knew that my family arrived in this country from Italy and that I was third generation Italian-American, at least on my mother’s side of the family. For the time being, that is the end of that part of my ancestry tree.

Unlike the celebrities on the NBC Who Do You Think You Are? tv show, I do not have the extra money to travel to Italy to find my ancestors.

On my father’s side of the family, the ancestry search was a different story. I could trace my family back past a relative who was a Union general during the American Civil War. That was pretty cool.

You hear about people who do a family history search and how they sometimes come across things that seem too remarkable to be true. I just wanted to find my ancestors and piece together their stories. Still, I was not disappointed with what I discovered and I am thrilled to be able to pass our ancestry tree on to my children.
